Safer Internet Day

Thank you to all of our amazing staff for delivering an informative and successful ‘Safer Internet Day’ to our children. This year’s theme was ‘permission and consent’ and how asking permission and giving consent can make our internet a safer place.

The children looked at a variety of scenarios linked to permission and consent and how this can impact their safety and self-esteem. An interesting point was raised by our upper key stage two children that some parents and carers freely post photographs on social media, of their children, and don’t always ask permission. Some children are OK with this while others found it uncomfortable.

Please speak with your children about permission and consent and how you can work together to make the internet safe and enjoyable.

If you are still concerned about how to keep your child safe online, please contact the school or contact the NSPCC ‘Online Safety Helpline’ on 0808 800 5002.
